According to a recent Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) healthcare IT survey, the healthcare industry is well on its way to achieving greater mobility. EMA found that by 2020, 80 percent of healthcare data will pass through the cloud at some point in its lifetime, and 65 percent of consumer transactions with healthcare organizations will be mobile by 2018.
Are you on board – fully? Millions of patients are already and millions more need to be. As reported by IHS Technology in January 2014, the number of patients using telehealth services (worldwide) will rise to 7 million in 2018, up from less than 350,000 in 2013.
Interesting to note, too, is that 63.1 percent of practices that have a patient portal said that getting patients to sign up and use the portal is their biggest challenge, according to Physicians Practice (July/August 2015).
